THUNDERFRET

Guitar Scales on the Fretboard — Interactive Scale Finder

Pick a root and a scale and the whole neck lights up — every position, colored by interval so you can see where the root, third and seventh live inside the pattern. Switch between whole-neck view and position-by-position fingerings, hear the scale played, and read a plain-English breakdown of how it is built, what it sounds like, and where music actually uses it.

Every scale and mode ships free: majors, minors, both pentatonics, the blues scale, all seven modes and harmonic minor, in all twelve keys, for guitar, bass and ukulele. When the scale is major or natural minor, the tool also lays out the chords that key contains, the classic progressions built from them, and a next-chord map that suggests where your progression could go — with a reason for every suggestion.

ThunderFret is built by one guitarist. Something broken or confusing? Tell me — every report is read.
